I worked with Sue at Brown Goldsmiths to turn my grandmothers wedding ring into a pendant for my mom. This was a project very near and dear to my mom. Sue worked with me to create such a beautiful piece, she had such a great vision of the finished project. I was so pleased with the outcome and experience! I would 100% recommend Brown Goldsmiths!
We had a top notch experience! We worked primarily with Sharon who was warm and gracious and very knowledgeable. I hadn't planned on purchasing a ring; I had visited to get a ring resized. I found a ring that I absolutely love and my husband felt the same as soon as he saw it. I felt they were honest in all dealings and they went above and beyond making sure we had a wonderful experience.

I've known the Browns for many years now, have visited their store several times while traveling to Maine, and met many of their terrific staff members. So while it's unusual, I decided why not write a peer review so their customers can see how highly regarded they are by other Jewelers across the country? Really, unless you are in the trade, you're not aware of the high standards they maintain, the quality controls in place in their Shop or the integrity they demand of their vendors and themselves. Fortunately, their customers will see Shannon, Sharon, and the other great staff members that will reflect those standards.....and now, through another AGS jeweler, I hope you'll see their reputation for excellence spans the industry. I could not recommend this business any higher.
Sue and the team are top notch professionals. Browns exceeded my expectations in quality and service! I was under a time constraint, and Sue made my custom design engagement ring happen with no stress.
After going to all of the local Portland jewelers I couldn't find the ring I was looking for. On a recommendation from a friend I stopped by Brown Goldsmiths and met with Shannon and Sharon. After some discussion on what I was looking for, a few 3D renderings, and a couple more visits to the shop, my custom-made engagement ring came to life. She said YES and the two of us can't keep our eyes off the ring. It's perfect, and so was my experience with Sharon and the rest of the staff. I can't recommend them enough, you have to stop in!
